I was first introduced to Pilates by my physical therapist. For years I was in an out of physical therapy due to lower back pain. The pain had been getting progressively worse and an MRI about a year ago showed several herniated discs with tears. Cortisone shots were offered as an option to reduce pain, but I knew that was only a temporary fix. When my very wise physical therapist recommended I go to Kimmotion Pilates in Crofton, I was intimidated. BUT, I went and am very glad I did. I have been attending Pilates sessions twice a week for the past seven months with amazing results. My back pain has been greatly reduced and is only intermittent. It can be managed with ice or heat and, occasionally, ibuprofen. I am stronger, more flexible, and have better posture and increased stability. As an added bonus I have lost six pounds and gone down a pant size!! I can’t thank all the professionals at Kimmotion Pilates enough for their outstanding instruction and constant encouragement. Without Pilates, I have no doubt I would be living in constant pain with a reduced quality of life and getting worse. Thanks, Kimmotion Pilates!!

Three years ago I was introduced to Pilates, and it has been life changing. Working with Kimberly for three years has taught me so much about my body, and I love the feeling of strength and control in my core that I get from Pilates. As I have progressed in the Pilates program, I am amazed at how you can learn to control certain muscles in your body. Once you find that control, you can feel the difference between when you just ‘do’ an exercise vs. controlling the practice. You soon become aware of every move you make. That awareness helps me get more out of not only my Pilates sessions, but also my day to day managing all of the tension that can be hidden in our muscles. Kimberly’s team of instructors are patient, knowledgeable, challenging and inspiring all at once – Pilates has really changed my life.

I was a golfer and had just reached 82 years. I was concerned that advancing age would affect my flexibility and core strength and needed to do something. After some research I decided that Pilates was the thing to do. Serendipity led me to Kimmotion Pilates and Kim Kandra who was just starting her business. My original intent was to sign up for a few months just before golf season and no more. It did not take long for me to realize the efficacy of Pilates for what I needed. I am now 88 years old and thanks to Pilates and Kim, I am still doing Pilates twice a week and still playing golf at an acceptable level (80s)
